A2J Fellowship News

We all long for two foundational things:  1) for our lives to have meaning and 2) for a sense of belonging. In a survey in which Americans were asked which words they would most like to hear.  The answers in order were “I love you,” “I forgive you” and “Dinners ready”.  Interestingly enough, these statements summarize the gospel story—that we are loved, forgiven, and invited by God to the banquet table.
The more we are formed by Jesus and this gospel story we will find ourselves face to face with the profound reality that at any moment in our day we can change lives and just maybe the course of history by becoming grace dispensers. I experienced this grace dispensing this week through:

*Lydia giving a fresh-picked peach from our Garden to a homeless person.

*Hanna Miley, while at a speaking engagement in Bonn, Germany, where she was sharing how her parents were murdered in Poland had a man come up afterwards and break down with guilt and shame confessing that his grandfather was an SS officer, who murdered Jews at the same concentration camp where her parents were killed.  Hanna embraced him as he wept and forgave him

*Mark Shipley the realtor helping Matt and I make the 4-plex sale possible during an intense spot in the negotiating process offered to put in a large sum of his own money to make the deal go smoothly.

*My amazing wife, Noleen embracing me and affirming her love and commitment to me as I deal with a very difficult struggle in my life

Where have you dispensed or received grace recently?
